Kids Cooking Corner

A special feature at the 2017 Farm Fantastic Expo will be the Kids Cooking Corner. Every day of the event your kids can have a go at making fruit skewers, french toast, sushi rolls and more, all fully supervised. The Kids Cooking Sessions take place within the Destination Food Pavilion, located at the Southern end of the event precinct.

Award Winning Company connects Workers and Farmers

Australian Working Adventures is a multi award winning family run company that offers holiday working programmes to young people from around the globe. Dan and Joanna created the business by accident in 1991 when they travelled from Scotland and arrived at Springbrook Farm in Booubyjan and began welcoming young visitors from overseas to work and stay.

Specialist Equine Workshops at Farm Fantastic

A first for Farm Fantastic Expo will see renowned horseman Michael Sekulich from the Australian Horse Academy conducting horsemanship clinics and demonstrations throughout the event.

Michael has many years’ experience in the equine industry, spanning from stock work in the Snowy Mountains, camp drafting and show jumping through to endurance and training horses for stunt work in movies.

Farmer of the Year Recipients at Farm Fantastic

The Keith Family, from Rocky Point Mulching, are the proud recipients of the prestigious Australian Farmer of the Year title for 2016.

The award was announced as part of a ceremony held at Parliament House, Canberra on Thursday 10th November 2016, proudly accepted by Matthew Keith, General Manager of the third-generation family owned and operated business, Rocky Point Mulching, which focuses on environmental sustainability, renewable resources and recovery development.

Aerial Imagery fly’s into Farm Fantastic

With over 15 years of aerial photography and aerial videoing from fixed and rotary platforms, Drone King Australia is one of the region’s most experienced drone operators.

Providing services for rural communities, drones have changed the way a lot of farmers tackle issues, such as dam level and water trough checks, feral pest monitoring, livestock tracking, fence inspections and more.

Australian Design Award Good for Business

Caboolture based business MyKit are the only shed retailers in Australia to win an Australian Design Award for Engineering Excellence.

The Good Design Awards date back to 1958 and are well known as one of the longest-standing, most prestigious Design Awards in the world. Blacksmith’s Family builds National Company

Throughout the 1940’s and early 1950’s Reg Dobinson, a hard-working blacksmith earned a well-deserved reputation as an exceptional tradesman and expert spring repairer.

In 1953, having more work than he was able to handle, Reg founded ‘Dobinsons Welding Works’ (now known as ‘Dobinsons Spring and Suspension’) under a tamarin tree in the backyard of his Rockhampton home.

Destination Food

The 2017 Farm Fantastic Expo will once again feature “Destination Food”, a dedicated pavilion full of local and regional gourmet food and wine producers. The pavilion will house market style sites featuring a range of produce, from locally grown fruit and vegetables, to gourmet foods, wines, cheese and more.
