Australian Horse Academy Demonstrations
DAILY FROM 10AM, 12pm & 2PM
Michael Sekulich developed and manages the Australian Horse Academy and will be conducting horsemanship clinics and demonstrations at the Farm Fantastic Expo, based on the teachings of Xenophon, fourth century horseman who’s techniques are widely used today throughout the world including the Germany Cavalry School in Hanover and the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.
Originally from Yugoslavia, Michael came to Australia in 1970 bringing with him many years of experience in the equine industry. His career has spanned from stock work in the Snowy Mountains, camp drafting, cutting, show jumping, endurance as well as training horses for stunt work in the movies. Through his unique brand of natural horsemanship, Michael starts, trains and re-educates horses as well as teaching his students to be better and safer horsemen and women.
Many of the techniques used by today’s Natural Horsemanship trainers have ancient roots. The idea of working sympathetically with the horse’s nature goes back to Xenophon and his treatise On Horsemanship, which has influenced humane practitioners of horse training in many disciplines, including both natural horsemanship and dressage.
