Farm Fantastic Alpacas on Show
EVERYDAY OF THE EVENT
Alpacas produce luxurious fleece but did you know how much fun there is in breeding them? These eco-friendly animals are suited to small lifestyle blocks as well as large broad-acre farms. Their soft padded feet, communal dung piles, low water intake and gentle grazing nature make them very low impact on the land. The region offers friendly, personalised service to prospective alpaca owners whether you are looking for pets, lawn mowers, herd guards or breeding stock.
Alpaca owners love to talk about their animals and have a wealth of information to share including offering the opportunity to inspect hundreds of alpacas on-farm giving you an insight into their feeding and fencing requirements. Some of our members provide ongoing management support. All are invited to meet the gentle and productive animals that are bringing increasing value to the agriculture industry, and great personality to Australian farming.
We will be running a halter judging competition on Saturday and Sunday in a very popular format based on Colour as opposed to the usual Age based competition. There will be 120 animals on site spread over the weekend. Friday will be a busy day with Fleece Judging going on whilst in the showring we will have a Junior Judging competition and a Junior Paraders competition. There will be plenty of things to look at and touch. It will be an event not to be missed. For more information visit us at the 2017 Farm Fantastic Expo.
